Jessica Ellis, MA (She/Her/Hers)

Staff Psychotherapist

Jessica’s journey to becoming a therapist began early on with her own experiences in therapy. She understood the transformative power of authentic and attuned relationships with counselors and teachers and knew she wanted to be connected to this type of work in her own career. After completing her undergraduate program, Jessica taught briefly at an adult’s school and a junior high and high school. While she enjoyed teaching, she found she most enjoyed working with students during her office hours where she was able to provide individualized support. She then spent over a decade providing consultation, research evaluation and training support to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS); this work included collaborating with administrators, social workers, and therapists to provide trauma-informed services to youth and families.

During this time, Jessica enrolled in and graduated from The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She completed her internship at a group private practice focused on depression, anxiety, peripartum support, grief, relationship issues, and life transitions. She completed her graduate research on ADHD in women, including the impacts of female sex hormones and PMDD.

Jessica’s background in teaching and consultation highlights her deep value of collaborative and relational work. Her goal is to partner with her patients as they walk through challenging times.
