Joey Reingold, BA

Graduate Student Intern

Joey is studying towards his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adler University while working as a Graduate Student Intern at The Aspen Center.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Indiana University.  Joey was initially drawn to the field through his work with children impacted by mental, physical, and behavioral issues.

After graduation, Joey worked as a Behavioral Specialist at Roger’s Behavioral Health—a mental health outpatient treatment center.  During his time there, Joey utilized CBT, ERP, and DBT techniques to help children and adolescents struggling with anxiety related disorders, OCD, and depression at the Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program levels of care.  He ran psychoeducation and skills groups and was part of a team that specialized in working with adolescents on the Autism Spectrum.

To facilitate the self-exploration central to successful therapy, Joey takes pride in building a therapeutic relationship that helps patients feel safe, open, and able to express vulnerability, allowing their unique stories to be heard.  Joey provides therapy in individual and group formats, and he is thrilled to be part of The Aspen Center team with the opportunities it offers for learning, growth, and improvement as both a therapist and as a person.
